Sisterhood
Sisterhood
Sisterhood is a dynamic, inter-generational group of women who come together in friendship.
The purpose of Temple Beth Am’s Sisterhood is to encourage the ideals of Reform Judaism, to bring togetherness among its members, to assist in financial aid and be a mentor for religious, social, and educational activities. Our Sisterhood provides the women of our congregation friendship, spirituality and bonding.
Our activities vary throughout the year. Some of our activities have included: Decoupage, beading, latke and cookie swap, Sisterhood dinners, ladies night out, speakers, cooking demonstrations, wine and cheese night, an dinner, and paint nights.
Additionally, Sisterhood supports the Temple and the Hebrew school throughout the year:
►Sisterhood provides cake, cookies and fruit for the oneg and grape juice for services. Challah is provided when there is a B’nai Mitzvah.
►Sisterhood provides boutonnieres for ushers for High Holidays.
►Sisterhood contributes to Temple events such as the “Not in the Sukkot” dinner.
►Sisterhood contributes to various Temple projects.
►Sisterhood provides the Hebrew School with all the food items necessary for the Jewish holidays, Mini Torahs for consecration, gelt & dreidels for Chanukah.
►Together with Brotherhood, Sisterhood provides Kiddish cups and books given to B’nai mitzvahs.
Date of our meetings: Second Wednesday of every month.
Dues: $36 annually; new member-first year free
